Gina Knight
PREKURE Health Coach
Introducing Gina
Gina has a passion for helping people move towards better health and overcoming challenges when stuck. She understands the huge chasm that can exist between 'knowing what to do' and actually doing it.
In her own health journey she has made huge leaps and bounds by having a coach to overcome obstacles to implementing lifestyle medicine. With the support of a coach, she was able to improve her nutrition, exercise regime, sleep hygiene, social connection and stress management to manage various existing and more recent health challenges common to women in peri-menopause. Also doing exercise, yoga, mindfulness, and using techniques such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) has been life-changing for her.
At different periods over her lifetime, she has adopted vegetarian, vegan, wholefood, low carbohydrate, ketogenic and zero carb diets in a quest to imporove her health. And thus, she has good understanding of nutrition in all these contexts.
She is a strong advocate of living a more 'natural' way of life using wholefoods as a nutrition source where possible and also has a good knowledge of traditional uses of medicinal herbs and supplements. She is a keen researcher and peruser of medical literature and likes to keep abreast of new frontiers in science.
In 2020, during COVID, while working for the NDIS at APM Communities, she completed Resilience Training and in 2002. She studied Transactional Analysis briefly, a psychotherapy model developed by Eric Burne made famous by his bestseller 'I'm OK, You're OK'. In 2016, she qualified as a yoga instructor.
